The person receiving the massage should be lying face down.
Before beginning, you must know that massages are given from the neck to the sacral region, and must have deep and slow movements, with the thumbs along the spinal column. Movements go upward, downward and toward the shoulders.

Follow this progression presented here so that your back massages will be entirely pleasant and healthy.
-
You start by folding the arm toward the back and massaging the edge of the shoulder blade from top to bottom, firmly but gently, with four fingers.
-
Utilize the kneading technique, on both sides of the spinal column from the neck to the sacrum, slowly and deeply. With this you will release muscular tension.
-
With your fists, glide along the sides of the spine from the neck to the sacrum, there separate your hands, one on each side and glide up with your hands in an undulating way over the whole back until you reach the shoulder where you slide toward the neck, beginning again.
-
Use the same type of massage, but use the palm of your hand from the shoulders to the hips. Use your whole hand in the gliding technique over the whole back from the neck to the hip, opening to the sides and returning to the initial position. You return gliding your hands, not losing contact with the patient.
-
The last movement will be gliding on the neck, shoulders and down the arms to the hands.
The repetitions of these steps depend on you and the comfort of the patient with the movement or his necessities.
