First you start by palpating the area to relax the leg.
-
You start with pinching from the malleolus to the kneecap. Then with your hands on the posterior tibial and the anterior tibial, always moving upward, use pinching and kneading techniques with your whole hand, getting deep at the kneecap and the nucleus of the knee.
-
Finish with a smooth but firm gliding massage.
-
You should use the same motions on the inside of the leg.
-
For the back, massage the Achilles tendon in pinches. From the posterior tibial moving upward and rotating toward the popliteal fossa, gently kneading and gliding, finishing the massage by gently rubbing with knuckles and palm.
