Massage oils are similar to oils used in the kitchen: you must know how to use them. Every oil has different properties: one carries us toward relaxation, another toward love...
The first thing you should know is that you cannot give a massage with dry hands. Firstly because your movements will not be as smooth as they would if you were using some massage oil or lotion. And secondly because massage oils can help you to maximize the effect of a massage. They don't only help the hands to slide, but they hydrate, nourish, soften and protect the skin.
The essential oils are mixes of chemical substances that work through smell, touch and the skin. Part of the oils that we use in massages pass into the blood stream through the skin and get into the nasal mucous. This is the effect that most interests us: the perfume chosen excites the nerve endings of the mucous and sends information directly to the olfactory lobe of the brain, without passing through the cognitive system.
Create Your Own Oil
Essential oils should never be applied directly to the skin as they can irritate it and cause bumps or sores.
As a preparation base, we use pure and natural oils. The most important basic oils are almond oil, hazelnut oil, aloe vera. peanut oil, and coconut oil, the most important. Olive oil does not work because it has a strong odor.
To make a good massage oil, it is good to add two drops of essential oil to 30 milligrams of whatever oil you use as a base.
For mixes, choose an odorless oil so that it does not change the smell of your essential oil.
